Baba Ganaru resigns at Kano Pillars

By Daily Sports on October 3, 2016

Mohammed Baba Ganaru has called it quits as head coach of four-time Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) winners Kano Pillars after the final fixtures of this season on Sunday.

The coach told supersport.com that he had to put in his resignation since his contract with the Kano club comes to an end this season.

"Yes I have resigned," Baba Ganaru told supersport.com on Sunday night. "My contract has ended so I had to put in my resignation letter."

Baba Ganaru, however, stated that he wants to take a few days off after a long and underwhelming season with Kano Pillars before he gives insight to the club's performance under his guidance.

He also said it is too early to begin talking of his future.

"For now, I want to take two, three days' time to relax and then I can talk about this season, and I am not even thinking of a job yet since the season just ended today," he said.

Kano Pillars spokesman Idris Malikawa further confirmed that Baba Ganaru left his role as head coach immediately after the club's 1-1 draw with Niger Tornadoes on NPFL final day.

"He resigned from his post as head coach of the club immediately after our match against Niger Tornadoes," Malikawa disclosed.

Baba Ganaru had previously guided Kano Pillars to win two of their four Nigerian titles but could only lead them to a seventh place finish this season.(sourced from supersport.com)
