Odion Ighalo, Isaac Success shock Manchester United (Watford 3 United 1)

By Daily Sports on September 18, 2016

Less fancied Watford early Sunday afternoon put up a sterling performance to shock star-studded Manchester United 3-1 in an English Premier League clash at Vicarage Road.

It was match in which Nigerian internationals Odion Ighalo and Isaac Success sparkled for the victorious underdogs.

Watford deservedly took the lead in 34 minutes through Etienne Capoue. Anthony Martial is caught in possession about 25 yards out from his goal by Miguel Britos, allowing Darryl Janmaat to race towards the byeline. He looks up, picks out Capoue with the cut-back and he rifles in from 18 yards.

The first half ended on that score, with the visitors cancelling the advantage in 62 minutes, with Marcus Rashford showing his predatory instincts once again, pouncing on a loose ball inside the Watford area to prod in from close range.

Jose Mourinho’s men were, however, back in deficit in 82 minutes when Juan Zuniga fired into the far corner with his first touch less than a minute after coming on, sweeping in Roberto Pereyra’s cut-back from the right flank.

Hopes of a United revival were dashed when Isaac Success, minutes after coming in as a late substitute for Odion Ighalo, went on rampage on the left flank and fed Juan Zuniga, who was fouled in the vital area by Marouane Fellaini, with the centre referee promptly pointing to the penalty spot. It was only a minute left of the four added minutes and Watford skipper Troy Deeney made no mistake, ferociously lashing the ball straight down the middle past David de Gea to complete the humiliation of world most expensive player Paul Pogba and co.
