The Super Eagles have moved three places up in the grading released by the world football ruling body, but are 14th in Africa

Nigeria moved up three spots to the 64th position in the latest Fifa ranking released on Thursday.

Gernot Rohr’s men were ranked 67th in August but improved with few weeks to the commencement of the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.

Even at this move, the three-time African kings are 14th on the continent behind Cote d’Ivoire, Algeria, Senegal, Tunisia, Ghana, Congo DR, Egypt, Congo, Mali, Morocco, Cameroon, Guinea and South Africa.

Nigeria's World Cup qualifiers opponents moved downward and are ranked thus: Algeria (35 -3), Cameroon (59 -5) and Zambia (92 -1).

Overall, Argentina remain unmoved in first place, while Belgium, Germany and Colombia occupy the second, third and fourth position respectively.

Brazil are August’s biggest points scorers while Bolivia moved 35 places up, with Malawi ranked 99th in the world having climbed 28 places up. (goal.com)
