World record holder Tobi Amusan has secured her place in the 2026 Wanda Diamond League Final after a string of consistent performances in the women’s 100m hurdles event this season, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The former world champion has amassed 28 points from five Diamond League meetings in the women’s 100m hurdles, comfortably sealing qualification for the season-ending championship, scheduled for September 4 and 5 in Brussels, Belgium.
Amusan currently sits second in the Diamond League standings behind American Masai Russell, who leads with 32 points.
They both head into the final with races remaining in London, Lausanne, Silesia and Zurich before the final.
Russell holds the fastest time in the world this year at 12.14s, while Amusan’s season’s best is 12.28s, a mark she has recorded three times this season.
The pair are expected to renew their rivalry in Brussels, where Amusan will be aiming to claim a fourth Diamond League title after winning three consecutive crowns between 2021 and 2023.
Amusan also remains the world record holder in the event, having set the mark of 12.12s during her historic run to the world title four years ago in Eugene.
