Edo Queens of Benin on Monday defeated FC Robo 4-1 in their second game of the 2026 Nigeria Women Football League Premiership Super Six in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The Edo team lost their opening game 1-0 to Nasarawa Amazon but knew they had to beat FC Robo to stay in contention.
The Edo Queen opened the scoring through Esther Moses in the 15th minute. The Queens got the second goal through Chioma Moses in the 32nd minute as the first half ended in favour of the Benin team.
After a narrow miss by Oscar Precious to increase the tally early in the second half, she, however, got the third goal in the 60th minute, while Mary Mamudu scored the fourth goal in the 64th minute.
However, FC Robo got a consolation through Nkwocha Favour’s goal in the 86th minute.

“I am delighted with the outstanding performance of Edo Queens against FC Robo Queens. This is the kind of response expected from a team with the pedigree and winning culture of Edo Queens.
“The players showed determination, discipline, and hunger throughout the game, and they deserve commendation for making Edo State proud,” Enabulele added.
According to him, the result reflects the quality, depth, and fighting spirit within the squad—qualities that have consistently distinguished Edo Queens as one of Nigeria’s leading women’s football clubs.
“This victory is more than just three points; it is a strong statement to other contenders that Edo Queens remain a force to be reckoned with. The players and technical crew have demonstrated the mentality required to compete at the highest level and challenge for the title,” he added.
Enabulele also applauded the coaching crew led by Coach Moses Aduku for their tactical discipline and commitment, which ensured the team bounced back strongly in the competition.
