Nigeria’s Wasi Adeshina will headline the Professional Fighters League’s first event on Nigerian soil when PFL Africa makes its Lagos debut on June 13, 2026.
Adeshina, known as “The Nigerian Jaguar” and carrying a record of 10 wins and three defeats, will face Spain’s Ignacio Campos (7-2) in a featherweight showcase main event at the Lagos event, which PFL has billed as its Africa First Round card.
The bout gives the Lagos crowd one of their own as the headline attraction, with Campos bringing international experience into what is shaping up as a statement night for African MMA.
In the co-main event, Nigeria’s Patrick Ocheme (8-1) takes on Cameroon’s Octave Ayinda (7-1) in a lightweight tournament first-round matchup, with both fighters targeting a place in the next stage of the competition.
Also on the main card, unbeaten Algerian bantamweight Karim Henniene (6-0) faces South Africa’s Thimna Mhlauli (5-0) in what promises to be one of the most intriguing contests of the night, two undefeated prospects colliding in a tournament bout.
Henniene missed the 2025 tournament finals through injury and returns eager to make an impact, while Mhlauli makes his PFL Africa debut.
Nigeria’s Cornel Thompson (11-3) faces undefeated Congolese fighter Tsilomba Mikixi (5-0) — a former EFC champion — in another lightweight tournament first-round contest, with Thompson looking to build on a breakout win in Cotonou.
The undercard features a middleweight showcase between Nigeria’s Yahaya Yahuza (8-0) and Cameroon’s Jordan Fongno (4-1), a bout that carries added spice given a rivalry between the pair that predates their PFL Africa involvement. Undefeated Nigerian strawweight Juliet Ukah also features against Brazil’s Elisandra Ferreira in a women’s showcase bout.
The PFL Africa Lagos event will be broadcast and streamed to fans in more than 170 countries through the organisation’s international media partners.
