Simba agent confirms Nwabali interest

By Daily Sports Nigeria on April 29, 2029

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali’s future has come under renewed focus after a leading East African football agent confirmed that Tanzanian giants Simba Sports Club are monitoring his situation ahead of a potential move for the free agent, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Nwabali has been without a club since his departure from Chippa United in February, and his availability has triggered interest across Africa and beyond, with Simba now emerging as one of the clubs considering a formal approach.

Edgah Mitemah, a respected agent in East African football circles who has been involved in several transfers connected to Simba, confirmed that the club have made enquiries regarding the Nigeria international.

Mitemah explained that Nwabali’s profile makes him an attractive option for clubs in the region, while suggesting that his exit from Chippa United remains a talking point among observers.

“Yes, I am aware Simba are looking to sign a goalkeeper, and Nwabali is one of those who has come on their radar at the moment,” he told Footy-Africa.

“I think he will be a huge addition to the Tanzanian league because of his profile, even though I still do not understand why he left Chippa United when he did.”

He added that competition for the goalkeeper’s signature is expected, with other clubs also tracking his situation, while pointing out that his free-agent status could influence any potential deal.

“There are other clubs like Azam FC who might rival Simba for the goalkeeper, while I am also aware of Kaizer Chiefs’ admiration for him,” he added.

“They have been tracking him for some time now. He is a free agent, so it will be easier for Simba to sign him, and I believe the signing-on fee they may offer could tempt him to join.”

“They are interested, and the next few days will be very interesting. I will keep you updated with the latest news on the potential move to Tanzania as soon as I have more information,” Mitemah said.

The 28-year-old has been training individually since leaving Chippa United and remains without a club despite earlier reports linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia and interest from sides in the South African Premier Soccer League.

The shot-stopper rose to prominence following his performances for Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations, where the Super Eagles finished third to claim the bronze medal. His form during that tournament had been expected to accelerate a major transfer, particularly after he signalled an intention to move on from Chippa United.
