Chairman of Dunamis Icons Limited, organisers of the Niger Delta Games, Itiako Ikpokpo, urged the participants to adhere strictly to the rules of the Games and display a high level of sportsmanshi

He said, “The Games start on Thursday with over 3000 athletes and their officials already in Benin. We held the draws for the team events already to signal the beginning of the race for medals.

“We are happy with the venues, and hopefully world beaters will be identified at this event,” he added.

As at Thursday evening, the Edo State capital, Benin, especially the main centre, Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, was brimming with activities as athletes and officials moved in and out of the venue.
