Lagos holds holiday cricket coaching clinic for students

The Lagos State Government, through the State Cricket Association, will hold a holiday coaching clinic for students, comprising 150 participants from 20 cricket playing and non-playing schools in the state, at the Main Bowl of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

According to the association, the aim of the Coaching Clinic is to teach participants the skills, techniques and etiquettes of the sport as well as the laws, rules and regulations of the game.

The association also intends to use the clinic to discover and nurture budding talents among the participating students who are expected to represent the state in future and to foster full sporting relationship among the students.

Meanwhile, Lagos State representatives in the 4th Lara Babalola-Haastrup South West Badminton Under-19 Open Invitation Badminton Championship have outshined their counterparts from other participating States like Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Ekiti at the recently concluded tournament.

The competition, held at the indoor hall of Mobolaji Johnson Sports Complex, Rowe Park, Yaba, Lagos, saw the state representatives winning the men and women’s singles final, men’s doubles finals and the mixed doubles event.
