Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze credited Fulham manager Marco Silva’s simple instructions for inspiring his match-winning impact in Saturday’s dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Brighton at Craven Cottage, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Fresh from Africa Cup of Nations duty, Chukwueze was introduced in the 59th minute with Fulham trailing to Yasin Ayari’s first-half opener. The Nigerian’s pace and directness immediately unsettled Brighton’s defence.
He drew Fulham level in the 72nd minute with a composed finish after Joachim Andersen’s perfectly weighted pass. Harry Wilson completed the turnaround deep into stoppage time to send the home fans into raptures.
“The manager told me to do what I can do best,” Chukwueze said after the match. “Everything worked out today.”
The 25-year-old also praised Andersen for the assist and hailed Wilson’s form, saying, “Andersen gave me a fantastic pass. I’ll give him the credit in the dressing room. Harry is in top form. He deserves it. He’s been incredible all season.
“I’m really happy for the team and for my goal. We really needed this win. It wasn’t easy to come back, but we played a great match.”
Chukwueze has now recorded seven goal contributions—three goals and four assists—in 10 Premier League appearances since joining Fulham on loan from AC Milan.
