AFCON 2025: Osimhen, Ndidi, two Super Eagles players leave camp after Egypt win

By DailySports Nigeria on January 18, 2026

At least four Super Eagles players have left camp, following their win over Egypt in the third-place playoff at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The quartet of Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, Paul Onuachu and Chidozie Awaziem have all returned to their clubs in Europe.

Osimhen, Ndidi and Onuachu all play in in Turkey, while Awaziem plies his trade in France.

They all left Casablanca aboard a private jet.

This means they will not be present at the award ceremony tomorrow after the final, as the medals were not handed out on Saturday.

Nigeria beat Egypt 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out after the match ended goalless in 90 minutes.

It is the ninth time the three-time champions were winning bronze at the AFCON.
