Eric Chelle provides injury updates on Nwablili and Frank while hinting at a surprise team rotation ahead of the next match.
Ahead of the Super Eagles' final group game against Uganda at the ongoing, Africa Cup of Nations, Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has raised mild injury concerns within his squad while also teasing a possible shake-up in team selection ahead of the next match.
Nigeria has already secured qualification for the Round of 16 from Group C but has conceded three goals in two matches, edging Tanzania 2–1 before surviving a late scare to beat Tunisia 3–2 on Saturday.
Speaking during the pre-game press conference, Chelle revealed that two players are currently being monitored after picking up knocks in training.
“Nwablili has a small pain in his knee, Frank on his ankle. There will be a surprise in the team rotation tomorrow but for now, I can’t tell you anything,” the coach said.
With qualification already secured, Nigeria will conclude its Group C campaign against Uganda on Tuesday.
