Pray Super Eagles Has Come

By Victor Enyinnaya on December 28, 2025

Epic, fierce, but highly technical game against equally prepared Carthage Eagles of Tunisia that came to claim the full three blooded points to enhance their fortunes at ongoing Africa's premium and premier football summit from the Group C.

Unfortunately for them the North African team met well prepared and focused Nigerian side on her good day.

Little wonder the game was fantastically enjoyed as fans had much more to cheer.

Everyone watching either live or from our living rooms were at their edges.

Super Eagles players didn't waste to tell everyone their mission earlier enough in the group game.

Victor Osimhen gave early warning.

The men upfront with him knew their onions and green great understanding amongst themselves.

It one game the Nigerians deserved to win.

The Nigerian bench led by Eric Chelle were active too.

His quick silver like change of formation from initial 4 - 4- 3 to 4 -4 - 4 paid off too.

In short, it was one game the entire team put every thinking right.

The future is still bumpy and all hands and focus must be regeared and focused firmly because everyone finalist to Morocco is to cart this diadem home.

Look at Benin Republic won her first AFCON game yesterday.

Africa' s football has come.

The Super Eagles' victory against the Tunisians yesterday was _an emphatic_ albeit convincing statement of a team whose time may be locking around if harnessed better. The game was epic - fierce and fiesty.

We simply outclassed and outplayed the Carthage Eagles with every player showing superb fitness quality and clear determination to win.

At some point in the game, ball possession was 66.4: 33.6 in favour of the Super Eagles.

Calvin Bassey worked really hard. He would have been my man of the match. But that third goal by Lookman erased Calvin's chances.

He actually took the Tunisians back to their training session, a lesson for even our boys.

While this match might not be a true test of what these boys have to offer, Daily Sports Nigeria thinks this victory was sweet.

The Tunisians ranked really high in every pre-tournament ranking and no pundit took them for granted.

To be honest with you dear readers we didn't see it coming like it came from the first stanza of anticipated difficult match at competitive AFCON apex.

 Well done Super Eagles!

In a very lighter mood this candid but harmless question, who was Victor Osimhen addressing when he scored that opening goal against Tunisia? Was it the referee, the linesman or the VAR?

For us here, all of the above.
