Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has sent a cryptic message to Victor Boniface, throwing his weight behind the Super Eagles striker amid reports of the Bayer Leverkusen forward’s split from his Norwegian girlfriend Rikke Hermine over a prenuptial agreement.
The UFC star took to Instagram on Sunday to share a cryptic message appearing to support his compatriot’s stance on protecting his assets, posting “Happy Valentine’s Day xo Be kind stay dangerous” alongside a screenshot discussing Boniface’s situation.
According to reports, Hermine was opposed to signing a prenuptial agreement, viewing it as a sign of distrust from the Nigeria international. The situation allegedly led to the couple’s separation.
The Facebook post shared by Adesanya claimed Boniface had transferred his assets to his mother’s name, though this information remains unverified.
The alleged arrangement bears similarities to that of Morocco and Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi, who made headlines in 2023 when it emerged his assets were in his mother’s name during his divorce proceedings.
Adesanya had previously voiced strong support for Hakimi’s asset protection strategy, writing on Instagram; “Very relatable… Imagine being so fu–en entitled that you think you deserve what a man has worked his whole life for.
“When you came into his life with nothing and tried to leave with millions. But like Achraf Hakimi, my assets are protected. I woulda taken half her s–t too but I don’t want half of NOTHING.”
The MMA star’s emphatic backing of both footballers likely stems from his own experiences, having faced legal action from former girlfriend Charlotte Powdrell, who sought half of his assets despite the two never being married.
Neither Boniface nor Hermine has publicly commented on the reported split or the prenuptial agreement controversy.
