The highly rated midfielder is eyeing the Nigeria senior national team the Super Eagles after impressing in the Flying Eagles.
Nwankwo Kanu's mentee, Chibueze Izuogu , has set his sights on representing the Super Eagles, Nigeria's senior national team, having made a significant impact with the Flying Eagles.
The promising midfielder has already garnered attention for his performances, particularly during the African Games in Ghana last year in Ghana, where he scored two goals and provided one assist in three matches.
When asked about his aspirations to play for the Super Eagles, in an exclusive interview with Pulse Sports Nigeria, Izuogu, 19, responded affirmatively, stating;
(function (v, d, o, ai) { ai = d.createElement('script'); ai.defer = true; ai.async = true; ai.src = v.location.protocol + o; d.head.appendChild(ai); })(window, document, '//a.vdo.ai/core/v-pulsesports-ng-v2/vdo.ai.js');
He expressed confidence in his abilities, believing that with dedication and hard work, he would achieve his goal of donning the national colours.
Izuogu's journey reflects his commitment to growth as a player. Having transitioned from Enyimba to CSF Spartanii in Moldova on loan, also last year, he continues to develop his skills in a competitive environment.
His performances at both the domestic and international levels have positioned him as a player to watch in Nigerian football.
As he pursues his dream of joining the Super Eagles, Izuogu remains focused on honing his craft and contributing positively to his current team while keeping an eye on future opportunities with Nigeria's senior squad.
Meanwhile, the youngster has credited his former coaches at Enyimba for helping development as a footballer.
The talented midfielder played under the former Super Eagles boss Finidi George and his young assistant Yemi Olanrewaju during his time with the People’s Elephant.
Izuogu has expressed gratitude towards his former coaches at Enyimba, Finidi and Yemi, for their mentorship during his time in Aba.
