The Group Managing Director of GTI, Abubakar Lawal, after taking a long look at where his company met the NPFL and where his group has placed our domestic league presently, he then emphatically declared that his company's initiative to give the Nigeria Professional Football League ( NPFL) new lease of life has paid off handsomely even as it is still work in progress and which has then put to bed, the doubting Thomases of our time.
He made the above remarks during an interactive session with the media yesterday in Lagos.
Lawal who graphically gave/traced vividly how it all started way back 2010 when his fellow technocrats started the spade work on how to truly reposition our domestic league and make it viable and reference point before the international football community.
According to him, much attention was given to it at the background building concretes and realistic projections until 2021 when it finally and fully started.
He said that it was concentrated planning not just on the surface, he narrated.
He further revealed that his company and the NPFL duly and diligently signed contract in 2022.
"The basic truth is that it has been like a marathon, and so all hands have been and would continue to be on deck, he reassured.
GTI, he posited has proved beyond every reasonable doubt that once there is a will, there must always be a way.
"Therefore, it is instructive to declare that we have put to bed all the doubting Thomases," he stressed.
"We have not only repackaged the NPFL league, we have set the tone going forward," he insisted.
The GTI group superemo, added that his group has put or injected much resources into NPFL league hence this redefining, reengineering, repackaged game for the present and for the future, he further declared.
He said to his audience “nobody would help us rewrite Nigeria and her other products than us as it beholds on all of us to always redirect/fix our focus on doing our best for Nigeria and good of the beautiful game.”
Lawal further told the media that positive results posted thus far on the domestic league came off factual and investigative reportage pledges, open door, innovative administration to ensure this project doesn't suffer, though the journey still seems long but with one spirit, one game, dogged steps tailored towards today's game, no doubt positive antidotes would be the light seen at the end of the tunnel for NPFL and our domestic league, sooner than later, he told his audience.
