Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen says he feels at home at Turkish giants Galatasaray following his brace in their 5-1 victory over Kayserispor on Saturday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Napoli loanee, who opened the scoring from the penalty spot after four minutes before adding his second in the second half, has now scored 12 goals and provided five assists in 15 appearances across all competitions.
“I think it was very important to come to this team and be a part of this big club,” Osimhen said as quoted by Express UK.
“They made me feel at home. I adapted very easily with Baris, Yunus, Gabi, Dries. I learned their game quickly. I was happy to be able to help. We are undefeated in Europe. We have to go step by step. We continue on our way in the Super Lig.”
The 25-year-old’s impressive form has helped transform Galatasaray into Europe’s only unbeaten team across domestic leagues, cup competitions and European tournaments among the top eight ranked leagues.
His contributions have been crucial in establishing Galatasaray’s eight-point lead at the top of the Super Lig with 44 points from 16 matches, while they remain one of seven teams with an unblemished record in the Europa League.
Despite interest from several European giants, including Paris Saint-Germain, who have reportedly made contact regarding a potential January transfer, Osimhen has publicly declared his commitment to Galatasaray.
“I will not leave in January, I am at Galatasaray until the end of the season. I do not know what Galatasaray and Napoli are talking about afterwards, but if they come to me, we will talk. Galatasaray is a nice club that I like very much,” the striker said in a post-match interview after his brace in a 3-2 win over Tottenham.
The Nigeria international’s €75m release clause could prove a stumbling block for interested clubs, with Manchester United’s new manager Ruben Amorim also identifying him as a top target to address their scoring woes.
