Iwobi, Iheanacho on target as Arsenal gun down Man.City

By Daily Sports on August 8, 2016

Super Eagles stars, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho, were among the goals for Arsenal and Manchester City respectively in a friendly game played at the Nya Ullevi Stadium in Sweden.

The pre-season game ended 3-2 in favour of the Gunners as both sides continued their preparation for the new English Premier League season.

Sergio Aguero’s neat finish from a Raheem Sterling cross gave City the lead but Iwobi equalised for Arsenal from a Theo Walcott assist in the 50th minute.

Walcott got his name on the score-sheet to put Arsenal ahead for the first time in the encounter as the Gunners took the game to City.

Chuba Akpom, who is eligible to play international football for Nigeria, came off the bench to score his fourth goal in four games in the off-season to give Arsenal a 3-1 lead with five minutes left of regular time.

Iheanacho came off the bench to reduce the score to a respectable scoreline with a deft header in the 87th minute to peg the game at 3-2.
