Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa was among the goals as Kano Pillars crushed champions Enugu Rangers 4-3 in a Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 7 encounter at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Wednesday.
The 32-year-old rounded off the scoring for the visitor on the stroke of halftime, taking his tally to three in two matches for his boyhood club since joining them in September for the remainder of the season, having marked his debut with a brace in their 2-0 home win over Sunshine Stars on October 6.
The Kano-based club started the match like a house on fire, racing into a 4-0 lead at halftime. Evergreen Rabiu Ali put them in front in the 15th minute with his 3rd goal of the season from the spot after Rangers defender touched the ball inside the box from Ahmed Musa’s cross. Zulkifilu Muhammed extended the lead in the 28th minute, his first of the campaign after being set up by Musa, who beat his marker down the flank. Musa classically converted from the spot to make it 4-0 after running from the midfielder to beat four Rangers defenders to slot the ball home.
Rangers put up a face-saving fightback that yielded three goals, with Isaac Saviour reducing the talkly in the 47th minute before completing his brace in the 59th minutes, while their virtuoso effort yielded a third on the stroke of regulation time through Emmanuel Nenrot.
