Elderson Echiejile and Emmanuel Emenike and several other ex-players of the Super Eagles made their way to Efen Ikot Okoro in Ika Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State for the funeral of Vincent Enyeama’s father, Philip Robin Enyeama.
The deceased, who served at the sports department of the University of Uyo, guiding the football team to several tournaments before his retirement, passed away on February 22 after a brief illness at the age of 92.
The colourful burial arrangement started with the opening of the morning house on July 1, which started at 10:00 am at his country home in Efen Ikot Okoro, followed by lying in state at the same venue at 7:00 am on July 5, and burial at St. Patrick’s Parish, Urua Inyang, Ika LGA Area, Akwa Ibom State.
Enyeama kept goal for Nigeria from 2002 to 2015, belting 101 games, making him one of the Nigeria players with the most caps.
