New Super Eagles invitee Ibrahim Olawoyin says his first call-up to the Super Eagles for the two 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic is something he will cherish forever, The PUNCH reports.
Nigeria will face South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Friday before travelling to Ivory Coast to face Benin Republic on Monday.
The Caykur Rizespor of Turkey winger was handed a late call-up last week, following the withdrawal of Bayer Leverkusen’s Nathan Tella from the squad.
Having previously played for the home-based Super Eagles, the 26-year-old, who resumed camp last Friday ahead of both games, described his invitation as a privilege.
“It’s a big privilege for me, which I will cherish for life,” Olawoyin told NFF TV.
“It (the invitation) came as a surprise to me and I’m so happy it finally came and I’ve been looking forward to getting the chance and try to prove myself and I will surely give my best.
“The national team is really different because it’s all the best players from different clubs representing the country and that will make you much better.”
