Former Nigerian international, Austine ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, has praised Victor Boniface for his impressive showing at Bundesliga club, Bayer Leverkusen.
The 22-year old joined the Die Werkself from Belgian Pro League outfit, Union St Gilloise this summer and has scored six goals in five league appearances.
He was named Bundesliga best player in August and also scooped the Rookie of the Month prize.
Elated about Bonuface’s prospect, Okocha described him as an amazing player who is showing that Nigeria is not lacking in talents.
“He’s [Boniface] been amazing. It’s always great to see one of our own doing well,”
“He gives us hope. It shows we are not short of talent. We [Nigeria] just need to get our act together!
“It is an exciting time for Nigerian football and the good thing is their ages, some of them haven’t even hit their prime yet.
“It’s now about finding a way to get the best out of them when they come to play for Nigeria”, Okocha told LiveScore.com
