Patrick-Estate Onyedum, Chairman of Anambra State Sports Development Commission (ASSDC) has congratulated Gov. Chukwuma Soludo on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the state creation.
Onyedum in his goodwill message also congratulated the people of Anambra especially the sports community for their exploits in Nigeria and around the world.
He poured special encomiums on sportsmen and sportswomen from Anambra both living and dead for their immense contributions to the development of the state and placing it on the world map.
Onyedum said this years' anniversary was another opportunity for the people of Anambra to celebrate their statehood in spite obvious challenges.
He said the sports sector had, like some other sectors have done well in uplifting the state.
"The Anambra State Sports Development Commission under the chairmanship of my humble self wishes to congratulate our governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and the great people of Anambra on this occasion of our 32nd year statehood anniversary.
"Anambra is an A-state in many areas including sports. On this occasion, I want to specially celebrate our sportsmen and sportswomen, veterans and active for their contributions, for making Anambra and indeed Nigeria proud.
"Sports can only be better in Anambra, the future is brighter for our young talented athletes because we have a sports loving governor who is himself a sportsman, congratulations to us all," he said.
Onyedum said the Anambra had intensified preparations for the National Youth Game billed for Asaba, Delta State next month.
He thanked Soludo for approving the participation of Anambra while calling for the support of all.
The present Anambra was created in1991 with is administrative capital in Awka
