The inaugural meeting of the Media Committee of Lagos State Football Association was held vertically yesterday in Lagos.
The chairman of the committee, Mr. Damilare Orimoloye Ezekiel after welcoming members set the tone of the meeting that deliberated on the way forward for the game in the State.
I Accord to him, “it is a great honour and pleasure to welcome you all to the inaugural meeting of the Media Committee today August 22, 2023 to set agenda for the committee which will stand as guidelines for us in order to work out modalities for the Committee” he said.
The chairman also added that, it is a real privilege for us all to be in this honourable committee which was carefully selected by the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) as a result of our wealth of experience in the industry.
“We are here to contribute our wealth of experience to progress of media committee programmes knowing well that media plays major role in football organization and t this I will want every member to see this project as our own way of changing the face of football in Lagos State.
I will start by this quote from one of the greatest footballer ever that says “Everything is practice” by Pele former Brazilian Footballer. The media plays a significant role in the promotion and marketing of Football,” he narrated.
He recalled how the media can reach larger audience and promote football events and sponsorships through various platforms such as television, radio, print, and online media. And one way the media promotes football is through coverage of football events, chairman further noted.
“As previously stated, the media has always been the focal point of any football game that is the way they interview, report, analyses, and disseminates information before, during and after every game which matters a lot would make or mar the emotions of every individual therefore we all need to come together and look for better way to push football to the people (fans) out there and also bring back the glamour past generations have enjoyed even when there was no adequate media publicity. Likewise, credibility and integrity are the fundamental truth to Football reporting,” he recalled.
He posited, at this juncture, it is important to emphasize that we all should be aware of the importance of media assignment ahead of us. That is how we can rebrand the media section of all the football committees set up, looking into the challenges of football media, getting standardized equipment that will ease the project, creating website that accessible to everyone, rebranding the public affairs of the media.
The committee members includes Akeem Busari, Musbau Rasak, Mrs. Titi Oshodi Eko , Secretary, Taiwo Husseein Aremu, FEMI Adetula, Sulaiman Adebayo, Mrs,Olatutu Oladunni, Taiwo Adelu, Victor Enyinnaya, Adeyemi Odu sakin, Jide Ojo, Mrs. Adeeola R. Kujenya
