An Egyptian court has released one of the country’s top football figures, Hossam Hassan after he reconciled with a photographer whose camera he smashed during an on pitch brawl.
The al-Masry coach paid a fine of 56 dollars and was released from Cairo’s Tora prison.
The 49-year-old was arrested after he chased down and beat a cameraman who worked for the interior ministry and also broke his camera after a scuffle between players of al-Masry and Ghazl El-Mahalla in a league match last week.
As a player, Hassan helped Egypt to three continental African Cup of Nations crowns, and scored 69 times in a massive 176 international matches, although he was also known for his hot temper and frequent fights.
The former striker has played for the two local giants Al Alhy and Zamalek, with whom he won 14 championships in Egypt and two Champions League.
