The new Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Olufemi Adeoye has commended the State Football Association Chairman, Chikelue Iloenyosi for giving the state a huge facelift via football.
Adeoye disclosed this when Iloenyosi paid him a courtesy visit on Monday in his office in Amawbia.
He expressed satisfaction and confidence in the way Iloenyosi has gone about his duties and promoting football at the grassroot.
"I thank you for coming around today. The Force both at the national and state levels has had tremendous working relationship with the football house. I have followed keenly your work in football in the state.
"Anambra has been my second home, so that is why it gives me great pleasure to welcome you here as I promise you that the Force will work hand in hand with the football house in the state to help keep youths off the streets by promoting the game at the grassroot level especially. Keep up the good work," he said.
Iloenyosi thanked CP Adeoye for the warm reception and assured him of his and the football family of the state support in making sure that his tenure is a successful one.
"Thank my CP for welcoming us. I was really happy when the announcement was made that you will resume as the Commissioner of Police in our state. A lot of Anambrarians were happy as well.
"You are a good man and so many testimonies abound for that. Just keep on being good. I am highly optimistic that this appointment will bring peaceful normalcy to our dear state.
"We will also partner with you to make sure that we continue our working relationship. Added to that, I have already informed you that there will be a novelty match in your name to welcome you officially. I wish you luck," he said.
Adeoye pledged to provide trophies and medals for the novelty game.
Present at the Courtesy call are the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Anietie Eyoh and PPRO Anambra state command, Tochukwu Ikenga.
In the Iloenyosi's entourage are Dumebi Onubiyi, LFC Chairman Njikoka LGA, Ifunanya Nwangwu, Proprietor of Peace FC, Ikem Asika, ANSFA Media Officer and Myckie Chukwuebuka, Communication Director ANSFA.
