Minutes after the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu inaugurated the 10th Assembly of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Obasa's colleagues unanimously voted him as the Speaker for the third consecutive time on Tuesday.
In a statement made public Tuesday afternoon, Executive Chairman of Lagos SWAN, Ms Olatutu Oladunni hailed the decision of the lawmakers to give Obasa a renewed mandate to the lead Lagos Assembly, adding that it showed that Lagos lawmakers believe in Obasa's capability and ability to stir the ship of the assembly.

Obasa is indeed a renewed hope of youth advancement.
"We are not surprised that the lawmakers reposed their confidence in Rt. Hon. Obasa once again. This is a testimony that Mr Speaker is at home with his colleagues and they believe so much in him.
"Mr Speaker has always been a lover of sports, and this showed in the hands of support he extended to us in the last dispensation. We can only congratulate him for returning as the Speaker of the most vibrant House of Assembly in Nigeria.
