As the burial ceremony of the former Super Eagles chief coach, late Stephen Keshi draws near, the 25-man Federal Government committee has expressed readiness to carry out their mandate to ensure that the main objectives for which it was set up would be met.

According to inside sources, the Federal Government wants to honour the late footballer and coach because of his exploits.

The insiders disclosed to Daily Sports (dailysportsng.com) exclusively that the committee would strongly and collectively recommend the naming of the National Stadium, Lagos, after the late Africa Cup of Nations winner as player and coach.

It was also gathered that the members drew their strength and agreement on the fact that the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, is the arena where the late former captain of the team played his games for the country and it will be more appropriate if the monument will be named after him.

The committee, it was further gathered, expressed their gratitude on the immense interest and passion the present administration placed on the burial of late Keshi. They chorused that such has made their job so easy and they are bent on delivering on schedule. “We are ready and working round the clock too since the committee broke into sub-committees since Monday,” a committee member said.

It was also learnt that the committee would induct his name into the National Sports Hall of Fame. The Media Sub-Committee has the mandate of the committee to publisher a book that would resoundingly and vividly chronicle all the footprints Stephen Keshi left on the sands of time in his time as a first rate footballer and coach.

The sub-committee the sources stressed have reassured the house that they will do their utmost best to deliver a quality job in all its ramifications.

It would be recalled that the Federal Government inaugurated a 25-man committee that cuts across all spheres to plan a befitting and elaborate burial ceremony for our fallen hero and patriot coming up later in the month.
