You see, it is impossible for you to beat a child and at the same time force him/her not to cry.
The above vividly describes the current scenario in the country today. In Nigeria, the present crop of politicians play to the gallery, not minding whether or not it seriously touches most sensitive existence of the nation.
Their aides arrogantly say unprintable things in the name of defending their principal. However, sadly in turn their principal keeps ungolden silence which allows tension to mount dangerously in the country.
Till the time of putting this to bed, the trio of Bayo Ononuga, Dele Alake and Fetus Keyamo are unabated in framing the polity with their lack of use of words in situation such as the country has on her hands today. Without much ado, you would agree that no country thrives on crisis. These terrible spokes persons of former Governor of APC strongman, Bola Tinubu are still unrepentant behaving as if the country is at war against itself. Nobody is calling them to order and so the field day continues.
One is equally bordered so much on the hitting of polity by the ruling APC antics of instigating crisis in Labour Party, a role the party is well known for. All these accusations and counter accusations trending the entire landscape of the country presently leaves soured taste in the mouth. It is in short an ill-wind that will blow the whole country no good. If their utterances put the country on fire, which one would their principal now come to rule while themselves have their loot which is why they are playing the role their role now?
Labour Party has been in the eye of storm created by APC to cause crisis within the rank and file of the massive political movement that not only swept and won the February 25 Presidential election and was denied it by INEC’s Mahmood Yakubu and APC.
That infectious decision has raised anger across the country and comments across the globe as both local and international observers said that the exercise was far away from semblance of credible, free, fair and transparent election.
However, the irony of it’s all is that LP is currently in Court challenging seamlessness of the election, yet APC high command are still restless in mere mention of LP hence the ceaseless unwarranted physical attacks and other unwholesome means aimed at  debasing the Obidents which is  a revolution whose time has come, that no army can stop. The Obidents that cut across all divides have been under sever attacks from APC agents and chieftains. APC see LP as most threat but the LP high command has made it abundantly clear that as law abiding citizens they believe vehemently in the rule of law and would stop at nothing to reclaim its mandate of February 25, given to them by majority of Nigerian youths and the elderly too who cut across all ethnic divide.
During the week, APC in their usual character, after finding nothing incriminating against the LP Presidential strong man, Peter Obi came up with highly manipulated video which it claimed was conversation between Winner Chapel founder, Bishop David Oyedepo and Peter Obi.
As that antics failed, one Wole Soyinka raised the dust again with his biased write up or is it interview?
To be honest with you, if you have followed the Professor’s trends from his early days to date you would without any prejudice agree that he has been a controversial person despite his wealth of education.
For instance, we knew why he was imprisoned for 22 months in the 1960’s, again the famous story of his holding Radio workers on gun point to halt election results announcement,  remember he was in the forefront with Chibuike Amaechi in pouring venoms on former President GEJ. In short, Port Harcourt became his second home. It was alleged then that Rivers State government picked his medical bill abroad, but today typical of him, Amaechi is now a villain in the eyes of Wole Soyinka. He has switched loyalty to his later day brother, Bola Tinubu.
In that circumstance therefore, one is tempted to tilt towards the school of thought that the notice me Prof has allowed himself to play the role of a jobber of the first order. His recent forth and back actions are pointers. At his age one expects him to be playing a statesmanship role haven come a long way in Nigeria history, negatively and positively, but unfortunately he is seen playing the role of a black leg and sycophancy.
As one that some people look up to, he ought to play more statesmanship role than his latest tribal tune which he sings all over the place making absolutely no sense. You can see how a supposedly respectable personality like Wole Soyinka has left the nitty- gritty to engage Dr. Ahmed Datti and the very revered Obidents. His present role is not surprised to keen watchers of his activities as they said he is always neither here nor there.
APC and its hired attack dogs plus the likes of Ononuga, Keyamo, Fani kayode and Dele Alake are Bola Tinubu’s leg men bent on putting the country on fire in the name of defending the undependable that was February 25 Presidential election result.
These ones in their myopic thinking are looking at whatever political positions they have been promised and so setting Nigeria ablaze matters nothing to them. Dele Alake and Bayo Ononuga are from the defunct National Concord stock and their antecedents’ are on the public purview.
Going forward, we all are aware how Alake fared when he served under Bola Tinubu’s government in Lagos State as Commissioner of Information and Strategy.
For Ononuga it has been mixed grill, his defunct The News magazine exposed Bola Tinubu’s certificate scandal. That cover story by the magazine was mopped up including the plates by the then Tinubu led government in Lagos State. Bayo Ononuga resurfaced when APC came to power in 2015 through deceitful instincts and he was appointed Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN. Therefore his story of administration in NAN is better imagined than described and it is the same Bayo Ononuga that is all over the place ranting dangerously.
The consolation amongst the LP supporters is that the Obidents who are erroneously highlighted as harsh and dissidents are the most peaceful and law abiding lots against the shameful lies presented in foreign land by Lai Mohammed where he painted and clothed half truths in glowing ropes. For instance, run up to 2015 Presidential election, Buhari made an inciting statement that if the rigging that happened in 2011 repeat in 2015, the baboons will be soaked in blood. The then ruling party never took them up on that obvious treasonable statement.
Lai Mohammed’s hatchet role in the run up to this woefully failed APC/Buhari government was headed propaganda machinery of the party. He is at it again. It is this APC that even threatened severally to form a parallel government if the PDP led government rigged that year’s Presidential election.
PDP didn’t hunt anybody, unlike what is happening today even when none of the political parties that went to Court are doing otherwise, but APC because of sthe baggages in its kitty are afraid of even its shadows and suspects even the ants.
That is the crux of the matter presently. Peter Obi raised alarm the other day that he was under intense pressure to leave the country if he still wants his head on his neck alive. Note that all these distraction are coming when the video option failed to fly, then the Wole Soyinka and a threat for Obi to leave the country chant. If APC believed it won the Presidential election why is it afraid and causing confusion all over the place which is capable of undermining the case in the Court?
This slide must be halted if the worst must be avoided. President elect, Bola Tinubu must stop this silence, speak from wherever he has traveled to and call his boys to order. The pretence that he does not know what is going on is falsehood and obvious road to anarchy. Enough must be enough this time.
Let sober reflection triumph. Let reason be the thinking cap. All these intimidation will not stop the tension in the land, rather it would continue to fuel it to high heavens.
Court process must take its full course, Dele Alake, Bayo Ononuga, Festus Keyamo, Fani Kayode etc crying loudest would do more harm which I don’t think Bola Tinubu will buy into.
Let’s keep watching keenly and keep shooting hard, till next week. Meanwhile we wait!!
