Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has promised that he will remain consistent with his performances for club side Napoli this season, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The 24-year-old’s performances this season have led to him being considered one of the best strikers in the world and arguably the best center forward in Europe right now.
When Osimhen was asked to give four reasons why fans should not give up on him in a clip uploaded by Sorare on Thursday, the Nigeria international responded with confidence saying, “I’m in top form right now, and I think I’ll continue like this.
“I think I’m the type of footballer who doesn’t let you down, on whom you can fully rely even now. I’ll give you what you want, in terms of football!”
These words will definitely have convinced many Napoli supporters who see Osimhen as their absolute idol after the extraordinary season he is having right now.
The striker’s brilliant season with Napoli has attracted interest from top clubs in Europe, with Premier League sides Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain and LaLiga giants Real Madrid all keen on signing the Nigerian.
The position of Aurelio De Laurentiis is clear on the valuation of Osimhen and it is unlikely that Napoli will sell the Super Eagles striker for a lower figure than the £150m price tag on their star striker this summer.
The former VfL Wolfsburg man has scored 25 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions to help Luciano Spalletti’s side sit 21 points clear in the Serie A table and reach the Champions League quarter-finals.
The Partenopei are now just 15 points away from winning their first Scudetto since 1990.
