No plan to strip Fernandes of captain armband – Erik ten Hag

By Daily Sports Nigeria on March 8, 2023

Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has disclosed his final decision on stripping Bruno Fernandes off the club’s captain band.

The Sun reports that there is ‘no plans’ by Ten Hag to strip the Portuguese of the armband.

The Manchester United midfielder still retains his faith, The Sun reports.

The call for replacement of Fernandes’ armband followed his degrading display against Liverpool on Sunday.

Fernandes had pushed the assistant referee, held his face after being caught in the chest by Ibrahima Konate and gestured to come off the field.

This occurred after Liverpool scored their sixth goal in their 7-0 defeat of Manchester United at Anfield stadium on Sunday.

Fernandes has been the club’s captain for much of the season, with Harry Maguire’s continued absence from the side.
