Niger SWAN gets dissolved

By Daily Sports on July 10, 2016

The Niger State Executive committee of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has been dissolved.

The dissolution took place at an emergency congress of the association held at the NUJ state secretarial in Minna after members unanimously agreed that they no longer have confidence in the Executives.

The motion for the dissolution of the state chapter was moved by Mr John Adams of the Guardian and seconded by Mr Obinna Onuaize of NAN.

The Emergency congress which was presided over by the immediate past Secretary, Mr Bayo Oguntuase relied on Article 21 paragraph D of the SWAN statues.

The congress also invoked Article 15 paragraph C to call for an emergency meeting since the state executive failed to call a congress in the three years life span of their administration which would terminate on 13 August 2016.

The immediate past Secretary of SWAN, Mr Bayo Oguntuase was mandated by the congress to see to the affairs of the association pending when a credential committee will be put in place.

The Congress then appointed three delegates that will represent the state at the forth coming National Delegate Conference of SWAN billed to take place in Ilorin the Kwara state capital. (channelstv.com)
