In the UFC, Kamaru Usman is regarded by many as one of the greatest welterweight fighters in the history of mixed martial arts, and the Nigerian’s net worth has grown as a result.
‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has fought and defeated some massive names inside the octagon, including Colby Covington, Jorge Masvidal, Gilbert Burns, Tyron Woodley, Rafael dos Anjos and Leon Edwards.
With some huge main event bouts already under his belt, it’s not surprising that Usman has been able to gather an impressive level of wealth and a net worth in the millions of dollars.
Usman reportedly has a net worth of around $3m (N1.3bn), according to Celebrity Net Worth.
This number takes into account Usman’s current UFC deal, his endorsements and several fight accomplishments in the sport as a highly ranked welterweight fighter.
Usman has had several notable endorsement deals during his combat sports career, with arguably the most high-profile being with Reebok and Trifecta. It has not been confirmed how much Usman has made from these deals publicly.
According to Sporting News, Usman currently has a base salary of $600,000 (N276.3m) annually.
This amount can be improved based on how many bonuses he can win during UFC events over the calendar year, with Performance of the Night, Fight of the Night, Submission of the Night and Knockout of the Night all up for grabs.
As noted, Usman has been in several high-profile bouts during his illustrious MMA career and according to MMASalaries, the biggest payday of his career so fartook place at UFC 251, where he defended his welterweight belt against Jorge Masvidal.
Usman reportedly earned $1,423,333 (N655.4m) overall for the bout, with $600,000 (N276.3m) as a base salary, $783,333 (N360.7m) in estimated PPV payout and $40,000 (N18.4m) in reported sponsorship pay.
