Osimhen’s future will be decided in June – Transfer expert

By Daily Sports Nigeria on February 16, 2023

Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen, continues to make the headlines daily and this time Italian transfer market expert Ciro Venerato has suggested that the future of the Napoli striker will be decided in June, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Osimhen has been the subject of transfer speculations from some of the biggest clubs in Europe with Manchester United the front runners for the signature of the Nigerian.

The 24-year-old was linked with a move to the Old Trafford in January but turned down the chance of joining the Red Devils.

However, in a chat on 1 Station Radio (via Tutto Napoli), transfer guru Venerato affirmatively said that after meeting with the player’s representatives, it is believed that he will decide on his future in the summer.

“Osimhen’s future will be decided in June, in a summit with his agents,” Venerato said.

“A contractual adjustment will be needed, to which the president is available, even going beyond the parameters of the club.

“If Osimhen then decides to give in to the sirens of the Premier League, an auction between Arsenal and Chelsea would be triggered, with figures that could be around €150 million.”

While it is widely believed that Osimhen could be joining United when he leaves Napoli, there could be competition from other clubs for the ownership of the Nigerian following his impressive form for the Serie A league leaders.

The former Lille forward is currently the top scorer in the Italian topflight, having scored 17 goals in 18 games.

Osimhen’s impressive form earned him the league’s best player of the month for January, while he was named the winner of Serie A Goal of The Month award for his stunning Pele-like goal against Roma in the same month under review.

The former Lille forward on Sunday once again scored against Cremonese and became just the second player, after Argentine Gonzalo Higuain, to have scored in six consecutive games for Napoli.
