Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has again won the English Premier League Manager of the Month award following a fine run of results in January.
Arteta has now won the award three times in the last five months, and is the coach with the most MOTM awards this season, having won it in August as well as November/December.
January saw the Gunners pick up seven points from possible nine points after a goalless draw with Newcastle United, before derby victory over rivals Tottenham Hotspur and also Manchester United at the Emirates, with a late goal from Eddie Nketiah that gave the Gunners the much desired win over the Red Devils to go five points clear at the top of the league table.
After picking up the trophy once again, the Arsenal boss, who spoke on the squad’s form since return from the World Cup break said, “After the World Cup break, you have certain questions – how is the team going to react, are we ready and have we lost that momentum?
“I don’t think we did, I think we used that time really well. We were lucky not to have some big problems in that period and the team responded by winning a lot of games.
“It’s difficult to choose the best moment because we had some big ones, but obviously the game that we won away at Spurs was a key one.”
Arteta has now won five Manager of the Month awards during his three years in charge, having previously been victorious in September 2021 and March 2022 before the start of this season.
He has become the first Arsenal manager to win the award three times in a single season.
Meanwhile Manchester United’s forward Marcus Rashford also won the Player of the Month award, Newcastle’s goalkeeper Nick Pope won the goalkeeper of the month and Crystal Palace Michael Olise won the goal of the month award.
