An unidentified admirer of current league top scorer Osarenkhoe Imade of Bendel Insurance on Monday showed his likeness for the player by gifting him N1000 for his efforts so far this season, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Imade shared the fan’s benevolence on his social media pages on Tuesday, following his team’s arrival in Maiduguri for their match-day five encounter against El-Kanemi Warriors.
The player revealed that he was moved by the kind gesture of the fan, which he said will motivate him to keep putting smiles on the fans of Insurance fans.
“Met a fan at the airport on our way to Maiduguri. He was so excited seeing me and appreciated my good form with a token and encouraged me to keep it up. I was emotional and at the same time, happy that someone could show me, such love. This, is a propeller to keep doing my best,” Imade tweeted.
The striker also thank the fan on his WhatsApp status, saying he appreciated the N1,000.
“A fan called my name and appreciated my efforts with a thousand Naira, things like this gives you the courage to do more because little things like this really matters,” Imade wrote.
Imade has scored four goals in four games this season, helping Bendel Insurance sit top of Group A in the abridged league with 12 points.
