Salute To Morocco, But must Be Vigilant Against France

By Victor Enyinnaya on December 12, 2022

This week’s column will briefly discuss the exploits being exhibited by the Atlas Lions of Morocco sole Africa’s representative at the ongoing World Cup football summit in Qatar.

We will also do a preview of this anticipated epic game on Tuesday morning on France –Morocco semi-final make or mar game.  It is one all important encounter that may either change the supremacy of the game at the hands of the masters and set the tone for a new era emerging in football horizon.

For the records, Morocco is already in the semi-final stage of the championship and would square up against former World Cup king, France come Tuesday, December 13.
Morocco is the first African country to reach the World Cup semi-final in the history of the global football festival that comes on stage every four years.

It won’t be tea party for both teams. Truth however, is that France, a strong European playing nation has richer and depth World Cup history far better their day’s opponent, Morocco.

The comparison is not balanced at all on paper.  But football being no mathematics can be so funny that the table can be turned against highly favourite team (s).
The entire World football fans will be on their edge as Morocco/France come to the spotlight on Tuesday in a struggle or fight of their lives to pick one of the slots for the finals of this year’s competition.

No doubt it will be one World Cup semi-final game between the above countries. While analysts have already given the game to France because of their pedigree on the game, but some pundits are arguing that Morocco being regarded as an outsider may likely spring surprise against the dreaded French national side. It won’t be easy for both sides. The two countries will employ vigilance as watch word.  However with the way and manner Morocco has approached her past games has put football experts in dilemma. Having defeated equally high flying Spanish squad sent strong warning to  the rest of  teams still remaining in the tournament as the fear of the ‘Atlas Lions team has become the beginning of wisdom’  for her opponents as anything unpleasant result is likely.
Morocco turned back high favoured Spain to proceed forward. Nothing is impossible in the semi-final match come Tuesday; moreover the spirit with which Morocco is playing  now remains catchy and frightening too.

Morocco has set the tone; France is solid which the European team has displayed thus far. However the present mood in Morocco’s camp is so infectious that every hand is on deck for total success of this project. It is one football adventure the North African side would never like to toy with. My take here is that if Morocco wakes up to her responsibility, it will take the game to the half of France. It will be one game that many chances will not come handy.

This columnist believes that any of the sides that resorts to taking challenges as they come will go a long way. The indices point to France carrying the day. The decisive day of reckoning will be Tuesday and a winner must emerge. As Morocco goes to this battle of supremacy, Africans all over the World will be behind them.  Head or tail, Morroco has encouraged and impressed enduringly, the way and manner the Atlas Lions side has shown depth and vitality too.

Yes, as Morocco will be afraid of their opponent, so also France because the French team and bench will be wary of Morocco, the African team extra ordinary.
As the clock ticks, Morocco and France are not giving anything to chance so far this match is concerned.

As it has become the talk of town by pundits, we keep eye on this most beautiful  game on earth, Keep shooting hard till next week, Meanwhile we wait.!!
