As top performer, you cannot afford to be careless, Amusan tells upcoming athletes

World Champion, Tobi Amusan, has advised upcoming athletes to be careful with whom they mix with, and more importantly, of what they put into their system.

The 100 metres world record holder said athletes must be careful with who they leave their drinks and other food items with, saying a minute’s carelessness could prove costly in an athlete’s career.

Speaking during her unveiling as a Glo ambassador at the weekend, Amusan said: “My advise to the younger generation is they should stay grounded and keep focusing and work hard.

“Don’t let anyone stop you from your dreams, keep working hard and the sky is your starting point.

“If for any reason you want to go anywhere, take your drink with you. Don’t leave it with anyone, because you never know who may want to sabotage your efforts.

“Drug cheating is a serious issue, which can ruin your career. So, be careful of who you trust with anything that enters your system.”

Amusan also thanked Globacom for appointing her as its ambassador, promising to be a good representative of the company and the youths at all times.

The new ambassador also assured the company that she would continue to project a positive image of the brand across the world.

“I am proud to be associated with Glo as its brand ambassador. It is a proudly Nigerian company doing great things and empowering Nigerians. I am grateful to the Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga, Jr., for giving me this amazing opportunity,” she declared.
