Lagos Speaker Obasa Hails Lagos SWAN As He Receives Fellowship Award of Recognition.

The Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Speaker Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa has commended the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria  SWAN Lagos state chapter for her consistent commitment and advocacy towards sports growth in Lagos state. 

This was made known recently in Lagos at the Assembly Complex  in Alausa, as he received the Caretaker Executive Committee headed  by Aron Akerejola during a courtesy visit to the Rt.Hon. Speaker. 

The leader of the most prestigious House of Assembly in Nigeria hailed the Caretaker Executive Committee for their outstanding Performance on sports upgrade and ensuring sports continue to gain better recognition and necessary attention needed.

He said, it is no doubt, Lagos State government has continue to play special role in sports developmental growth, also ensuring Lagos State becomes a Universal Sports Hub and home of Luxury for many athelets across the world. 

The Speaker who is representing Agege constituency I at Lagos State House of Assembly said , he is highly impressed with the level of innovation and futuristic framework the Caretaker Secretary, Olatutu Oladunni has analysed before him on behalf of Lagos SWAN as this had really proven that it is going to be a realistic vision that will also add good values to  Lagos State.

He appreciated the Caretaker Executive Committee during their familiarization tour and promised that Lagos House of Assembly will  continue to offer his unique and unrelenting support as this will enhance better integration and smoother synergy between Lagos State House of Assembly, Lagos State Government and the Sports writing family. 

Obasa while being decorated and honoured with a Fellowship  Award of Recognition by the Caretaker  Executive Committee and receiving the newly unveiled kit of Lagos SWAN  branded in SPEAKER 01 expressed his utmost happiness and appreciation towards Lagos SWAN.   

Sports has always been a Great tool of Success for any progressive society, and is also a great weapon of Peace and blessings for a rising nation. 

Obasa revealed that,  the only thing which cuts across all race, sentiment, tribe, colour, gender and religion  is Sports. 

He said, he will try to ensure sports continue to get more consideration and relevance. 

In response,  the Secretary Caretaker Executive Committee, Olatutu Oladunni also commended the Speaker for his unrelenting support and commitment towards sports developmental growth in Lagos State.  She explained that there is need to create a more productive integration between Lagos Assembly and Lagos SWAN.  She said there is need to continue to embrace sports as it is an unquantifiable investment that can add more gain to the IGR of Lagos State.

Olatutu praised the Speaker for several bills  on Sports the Lagos Assembly has passed into Law in time past which is yielding positive result today..

Obasa  responded that Sports is a great investment that really need to be utilized effectively ranging from the Sports kit, promotion of various tournaments,  ensuring Lagos State  Sports Commission accommodate every sport without any sentiment.  

He said one of his major Sports projects, ANNUAL OBASA CUP will commence again after outbreak of corona virus in 2020.

He therefore urge all sports journalist not to give up but to continue to do more and assure a full support from him.
