Ighalo ready for Rio 2016 Olympics

By Daily Sports on June 28, 2016

Nigeria international Odion Ighalo has declared himself ready for the 2016 Rio Olympics football event.

The striker was included in Siasia's 35-man preliminary squad for the tournament as one of the overage players vying for the three available spots in the Dream Team VI squad , and the 27-year-old has stated dismissed claims that he would not be available.

"No! No!! No!!! That’s just a rumour," Ighalo told  The Cable .   “Which player in the world won’t want to be at the Olympics?

“I have said it several times that it is one of my dreams to play at the Olympics.

“I never said I won’t be there and there’s no issue concerning my availability for the games.

“I wish the Olympics were now, now, now. I wish to play in it right away,” he concluded.

Ighalo scored 17 goals in 42 appearances for Watford last term, and coach Samson Siasia would be banking on the Watford forward to strengthen his attack.
