Osimhen Can Become Our New Leader- Napoli Star Politano

By Daily Sports Nigeria on August 6, 2022

Napoli winger Matteo Politano believes Victor Osimhen can be the team’s new leader following the departure of some of their key stars.

Former captain Lorenzo Insigne, Kalidou Koulibaly and Dries Mertens have all left the club.

Insigne has moved to Major League Soccer outfit, Toronto FC, while Koulibaly, who was tipped to take over as captain of the club linked up with Chelsea.

Mertens decided to leave the Partenopei following the expiration of his club.

Politano insisted that Osimhen has what it takes to take up leadership role in the team.

“Osimhen must be calm and think about doing well on the pitch, he is a point of reference, he must become our leader both on and off the pitch,” Politano was quoted by Tutto Napoli.

*Di Lorenzo is a silent captain, he is special: perfect for that responsibility ”.

Osimhen scored 14 goals in 27 league appearances for Napoli last season.
