THE first undercard fight for Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk has been announced.
And it includes a former World Champion.
Former WBC super-middleweight and WBA light-heavyweight champion Badou Jack, 38, is set to return to the ring to face Richard Rivera, 31, before the main event on August 20.
Jack is currently fighting in the cruiserweight division.
He decided to make the jump up from the light-heavyweight division following defeats to Marcus Browne and Jean Pascal.
But he has recorded four wins since the transition.
His first came as he defeated Blake McKernan on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr in 2020.
He then claimed another victory against Dervin Colina on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul in 2021 before defeating Samuel Crossed later that year.
His most recent win came against Hany Atiyo earlier this year in Abu Dhabi before Mayweather’s exhibition with Don Moore.
But now he is set to appear on the big stage once again as he takes on Rivera on the undercard of one of the biggest fights of the year.
Joshua is seeking redemption after he suffered a shock defeat to Usyk last year.
The Ukrainian completely dominated the bout which took place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September.
