Bayern Munich has reportedly prepared to meet Liverpool’s valuation for winger Sadio Mane.
Since the day before the Champions League final late last month, Mane’s future has been a hot topic for debate due to his contract being due to expire in 2023.
However, the general consensus has been that the Senegal international will depart Anfield providing that any interested clubs are prepared to meet his asking price.
Bayern have seemingly been the only high-profile club who have been in the race for the 29-year-old, the German outfit needing to act while at risk of losing key players of their own in similar circumstances.
Up until now, it has been reported that the Bundesliga champions have failed to get anywhere near to meeting Liverpool’s alleged asking price, which is said to be in the region of £42.5m.
However, according to Sky Sports News, Bayern are now said to be ready to meet that valuation in order to wrap up a deal as soon as possible.
The report claims that Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic is due to hold discussions with his Liverpool counterparts on Friday in order to try to finalise terms.
Furthermore, officials at the German club have allegedly pointed to the value for money that Liverpool received when signing Thiago Alcantara two years ago for a fee which could reach £25m.
Mane has allegedly already agreed personal terms with Bayern, strengthening the chances of a deal being completed over the coming days.
Should the attacker depart Merseyside as expected, he will leave having contributed 120 goals and 48 assists from 269 appearances in all competitions.
