Chelsea Plots Double Raid On City For Jesus, Sterling

By Daily Sports Nigeria on June 8, 2022

Chelsea has joined the transfer race for Manchester City striker, Gabriel Jesus and has been offered Raheem Sterling, reports claimed.

The Blues are entering an exciting new era under the Todd Boehly-led consortium of owners. Following a tumultuous few months of uncertainty both on and off the pitch, Chelsea finally have financial security.

And after finishing third in the Premier League with some inconsistent performances, the Stamford Bridge club is looking to beef up their ranks.

Amid doubt over record signing Romelu Lukaku’s future, AS reports that Chelsea has joined the bidding for City’s Brazil international Jesus.

Arsenal, led by former City assistant coach Mikel Arteta, has been chasing the 25-year-old for a while. Reports earlier this week, meanwhile, said that Tottenham has made a £40million bid for Jesus.

Now, it is Chelsea who fancies their chances of snapping him up, as the striker enters the final year of his City deal.

Another report from AS claimed that Chelsea has been offered Jesus’ City teammate, Sterling. The England international also has a year left on his contract and uncertainty over his future has lingered for a while.

AS claimed that time is running out for Chelsea to land Jesus, as it remains unclear when they can advance interest. However, Arsenal and Tottenham face no such problems.

As for Sterling’s future, he has also reportedly been offered to Bayern Munich and Barcelona. Bayern are unclear if Serge Gnabry – supposedly a Liverpool target – will leave as he has one year left on his terms.

Concurrent claims say that City is looking to refresh their back line with a raid on Arsenal for Bukayo Saka. He had hoped to be playing Champions League football with the Gunners next season, until they squandered a top-four Premier League finish.
