The Nigeria Football Federation has removed transfer embargo on players of Giwa FC following the expulsion of the team from the Nigeria Professional Football League.
It means players of the expelled Jos Elephants are now free to join other club sides till the end of 2015/2016 season, putting an end to weeks of uncertainty rocking their future.
Sanusi Mohammed, the secretary of the NFF approved the decision in a letter to the League Management Company, organisers of the Nigeria Professional Football League on Monday.
Recently, the NFF's Disciplinary Committee had last week upheld the explusion of the embattled Ambassador Chris Giwa's side for missing cumulative matches in the 2015/16 season following the non-appearance of it official for an appeal sitting.
“Based on the LMC’s expulsion of the club from the Premier League and the NFF ratification of the same measure and with special reference to article 14 & 23 of the FIFA regulations on the status and transfer of players," Sanusi wrote LMC in part.
"All players of Giwa FC as pronounced by the LMC and the NFF Disciplinary Committee are free to provisionally register for any club of their choice till the end of the 2015/2016 football season.
“Note also that, all the players are to return to the management of Giwa FC after the last match of the 2015/2016 League Season".
On May 3, the LMC announced the expulsion of Giwa FC for failing to play matches involving Wikki Tourists, Akwa United and Enyimba, which NFF had upheld.
