Former Senate President of Nigeria, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has lauded the Super Eagles of Nigeria for warding off an away team pressure and earning a draw against home side, the Black Stars of Ghana in Kumasi on Friday night, Completesports.com reports.
The Nigerian team played out a 0-0 draw with Ghana at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, a good base for the decisive second leg in Abuja on Tuesday.
Nigeria goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, made some cricial saves in the game and the Eagles also had a penalty chalked off for offside by VAR.
Saraki took to Twitter on Saturday morning to hail the Super Eagles’ doggedness in the game and the fair away result achieved.
“Strong performance by our @NGSuperEagles! Let’s wrap this up nicely on Tuesday when we have home advantage!,” Saraki tweeted.
