Ezekiel desiring a place in Rio Olympics

By Daily Sports on June 17, 2016

Imoh Ezekiel has expressed a strong desire to feature at the men's football event at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Jainero in August with Nigeria's under-23s.

The 22-year-old explained that he wants to be part of the biggest sports event in the world as well as play a role in Nigeria's run at the men's event.

The striker has already had a run-out with Samson Siasia's team in an international friendly in March this year when they defeated Brazil one-nil.

He now hopes that outing in Brazil will have a bearing on his chance of being part of Siasia's team to the Olympics.

"Olympic is a big sporting event. I would like to play in the Olympics. I played in the friendly against Brazil for the under-23s which we won. So I will be hoping to be part of the Olympic team," said Ezekiel.

Ezekiel has featured for Nigeria at the senior level when he came off the bench to replace Victor Moses in a pre-World Cup friendly with Mexico in March 2014.
