Chelsea Hoping To End Worst Run Of Form Under Tuchel Against Wolves

By Daily Sports on December 19, 2021

Chelsea will head into Sunday’s Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on their worst run of conceding in the Premier League since Thomas Tuchel took charge of the club.

Tuchel has enjoyed huge success since taking up the reins at Stamford Bridge in January of this year, establishing the Blues as a force both domestically and in Europe once again.

Chelsea’s remarkable defensive record under the German has been the bedrock of that success, but in recent weeks that has begun to slip during a blip for the Champions League holders.

The Blues have now conceded at least once in each of their last five Premier League games – their longest run without a clean sheet in the competition since Frank Lampard’s Chelsea side went six from January to February 2020.

The London outfit’s last clean sheet in the Premier League came almost a month ago on November 20, when they beat Leicester City 3-0 at the King Power Stadium. Since then, the title hopefuls have picked up eight points from the 15 on offer in the Premier League, losing ground on Manchester City and Liverpool at the top of the table as a result.

Chelsea will look to end their wait for a clean sheet on Sunday against a Wolves side that has scored just 13 goals in 17 games this season – the second-worst attacking record in the division. (Sports Mole)
