Manchester United Looking To Avoid Worst Ever Run Against Arsenal

By Daily Sports on December 2, 2021

Manchester United will be looking to avoid their worst ever league run against Arsenal when the Red Devils welcome the Gunners to Old Trafford on Thursday night.

Michael Carrick will again lead the 20-time English champions, although new interim head coach Ralf Rangnick could be in the stands at Old Trafford, as the German waits for his work permit.

Man United are winless in their last six Premier League meetings with Arsenal, but they have never gone seven league games without a victory against the North London outfit before. The two teams played out a goalless draw when they last locked horns at the Emirates Stadium in January, while the Gunners recorded a 1-0 victory when the pair met at Old Trafford last term.

Man United have not been victorious against the capital side at Old Trafford since a 2-1 success in April 2018, when Marouane Fellaini netted a late winner for the hosts.

A poor run of form has seen the Red Devils drop down into eighth position in the table, five points behind fifth-placed Arsenal ahead of Thursday night’s contest in Manchester. (Sports Mole)
