Mbappe Says He Is Not As Good As Messi, Ronaldo

By Daily Sports on November 30, 2021

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has claimed that he does not belong in the same bracket as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Mbappe, who helped France to the World Cup in 2018, has long been regarded as the heir to the throne of the two veterans, now 34 and 36 years of age respectively.

On a night when Messi collected his seventh Ballon d’Or, Mbappe finished down in ninth position, and the 22-year-old feels that he has much work ahead to reach the levels of the legendary pair.

Speaking before presenting Barcelona captain Alexia Putellas with the Ballon d’Or Feminin trophy, Mbappe said: “It’s a pleasure but I’m not like Messi and Ronaldo. They’ve won a lot of times; they’re legends.

“I’m lucky to play with Leo and learn from him on a daily basis. Just having my name next to theirs is a pride.”

Mbappe, who continues to be linked with Real Madrid, has contributed nine goals and 10 assists from his 19 starts in all competitions this season. (Sports Mole)
